Book 1

I have just completed my first manuscript
'A carpet of purple flowers'
(Previously titled - The well of Chance)
A Trilogy

Design by Marenne Hoeksema
Book One:
A carpet of purple flowers
‘Every unknown is a beginning’

Bea lives a simple life, residing in a SW London second-hand bookshop. It had been an especially difficult year, first with Bea’s uncles dying, then splitting up with Brandon, her philandering, druggie boyfriend. The shops trivial daily conversations, local faces, and calm was all Bea desired, but that was all about to change.

No-one expects to bump into supernatural beings, let alone two opposing sects of a forgotten race. Bea’s quiet existence turns into turmoil as she slowly starts to unravel a secret past. A lost history in which love, revenge, betrayal, magic, power and karma, are not mere cycles of a soul, but a sacred journey upon a web of many possibilities.

The future is not set in stone, and the choices Bea makes ripple through the cosmos. As the secret unfolds, she realises that no matter what form your soul takes, there are consequences for ones actions in which time has no relevance – we call it karma, they call it Vororbla.

Will Bea cope with the heartbreak and truths before her?
What would you do if your very existence came into question?
Join Bea as she uncovers the truth of her past,
via a carpet of purple flowers.

I have started the planning, plot details etc. for the other two books in the trilogy.
2. Awake in Purple Dreams - Second book (In progress)
3. The Purple Book of Menteith - Third Book (Past Tale) - In progress
4. Shining Sword - Third Book (Future Tale)

5. 'The butterfly bridge' - Pre-history of the trilogy.  (A standalone edition)

Book One

The blending of worlds...

I have always been inspired by myths and lore.
What better than the tales of ancient folk to seek inspiration.
Magic and nature...the art of just being.
Did you know that Tolkien drew his inspiration from Nordic lore?
Gandalf was actually a Nordic King in the old sagas.
Nordic mythology holds a special place in my heart,
my family lineage, grandfather's side, is derived from Viking ancestry.
- Wolstenholme. I use this surname for my main character, Bea.
The motto: In ardua virtus
=Virtue against difficulties

(Book One) A carpet of purple flowers
Set in the present, SW London.

In my story planning, each character is descriptively scribbled down.
I have pieces of scrap paper everywhere! There is always additional info to add as the character grows while writing. :o)

History has a way of repeating itself
Karma exists everywhere, in every dimension
Only a thin veil separates them all.

Tattoo on Bea's inner left arm:
What you seek is seeking you...Rumi

The past
Brandon and Bea
SW London - some people are more street than others,
and they do not take lightly any unusual changes in their manor.
