2ND ANNUAL ADO BLOG EVENT ART DOLL CHALLENGE

Hello & welcome

Alice in Wonderland inspired doll that I have created for the event.

Alice has been created from 'creative' paper clay

I stuck with the inspiration of a folk idea,

a little aged in feel too

Alice was made flat backed so that she may be suspended from a cabinet or wall,

(behind her bow .. a hoop for hanging)

OOOOooooo it is nearly time to leap into all the other rabbit blog holes

So I will say goodbye

I don't wanna be late for a very important date!

visiting of the blogs will last for the weekend, and the event officially ends on July 11th.

Alice in wonderland inspired...

A short piece on Alice to inspire...

Alice's Adventures in Wonderland (commonly shortened to Alice in Wonderland

)

is an 1865 novel written by English author Charles Lutwidge Dodgson under the pseudonym Lewis Carroll .

It tells the story of a girl named Alice who falls down a rabbit hole into a fantasy world populated by peculiar and anthropomorphic creatures.

The tale plays with logic

in ways that have given the story lasting popularity with adults as well as children.

It is considered to be one of the best examples of the literary nonsense genre.

Historical references

In the eighth chapter, three cards are painting the roses on a rose tree red,

because they had accidentally planted a white-rose tree that the Queen of Hearts hates.

Red roses symbolized the English House of Lancaster, while white roses were the symbol for their rival House of York.

Therefore, this scene may contain a hidden allusion to the Wars of the Roses.

Marie Antoinette Closet...

er Royal Closet

Create a closet fit for a Queen.

Imagine what Marie would keep inside her closet.

Shoes, of course, fans perhaps, dresses, maybe even a place for cupcakes!!

An image of Marie in some fashion,

the possibilities are endless.

The example is one of my own creations..

made for a swap with a lady named Dawn.

Alter a hinged box, (example is a cigar box) into a closet.

Glam up the outside Inside, a shelf can be created from mat board or balsa wood.

In creating the inside, keep in mind a few things.

One, you will want it to close completely.

You may wish to keep the size between 6" and 12" to keep your postage reasonable if mailing.

Be sure to sign and date it somewhere :-)

TEAM Muñeca.... ADO

TEAM Muñeca, Traveling Doll Project 2010

What is the traveling Doll Project?

This project is a collaboration of artists, all working individually on a group doll.

This year we have 26 members participating that have been split into 7 teams.

Each doll will take a journey...starting and ending in the same place with a whole new look and story.

A journal will travel with each doll that will tell the story from the start, middle,
and the end of the dolls adventure.

Luna & Victoria

'Victoria' arrived first, I painted & then added her hair,
Victoria can now resume her travels and gain some clothing, she is quite bashful at present.

'Luna' has just arrived and I will be constructing some clothing for her,
She will hopefully stay a while as the last doll in our TDP rounds :-)
