Dollirium, art doll gallery

A beautiful valley of dolls.
Current Show: The Great Doll Harvest Sept 9th-Oct 20th 2012

Showcasing one-of-a-kind art dolls by international artists from around the world, featuring new exhibits every 8 weeks while offering a variety of art classes. Dollirium Art Doll Emporium is Canada's leading art doll gallery. Since opening their doors in March of 2011 they have showcased well over 60 artists (and growing strong). This unique gallery is a definite must-see for art lovers.

Located at 1 Cliftonvale Ave. London, Ontario Canada.

It’s a creative and spooky and entrancing place just west of Wharncliffe called the Dollirium Art Doll Emporium.

The Great Doll Harvest is the current exhibition at the gallery and shop. This fall harvest brings together dozens of dolls created by artists in eight countries.

“It’s gone from being a hobby to a fine art,” emporium owner and art doll artist Jacqui Gallant said during Tuesday’s video shoot.

Gallant, a Strathroy District secondary school grad who came to London about 20 years ago, opened Dollirium in March, 2011. She also has other, non-doll, businesses here.

Like the dolls on its walls, Dollirium looks to be one of a kind.

“We believe we are the only art doll gallery in the world at the moment, which is very cool for London,” said Dollirium manager and this show’s curator Sarah Legault, a London artist who grew up in Kincardine.

Like Gallant, Legault has work in the exhibition.

Their creations fit well with other art dolls on display. All are one-of-a-kind and handmade by the artists. Some have been in stop-motion animations, or in music videos, Legault said.

One Shakespeare-themed work in another part of the gallery is soon to hit the downtown London stage. A work inspired by the Bard’s Othello is to have a place when Theatre Nemesis stages the Shakespeare tragedy, directed by Jason Rip, at the Arts Project later this month.

In all, there is artwork from 50 artists based in Canada, the U.S., Europe and Japan.

The gallery’s fan base has gone viral on the Internet in recent months.

I am so excited to be a part of Dolliriums Doll Harvest Show,
thank you ladies. Beautiful creations, pop over links to view artists work.

Dollirium

Hi everyone :0)
As promised I am showing the poster for the
Doll gallery in Canada - Dollirium.

I am so excited to have my dolls exhibit with all the other
wonderful, talented artists.
Dollirium facebook page HERE

Below are some of the dolls you will be able to view/buy
that I created filling with love & light  :0)
These dolls'are made with either cloth & clay/just clay.
All completely hand-made, hand painted.
No molds/templates used.

I hoped to create a light & airy feel to these dolls.
They could sit in a room - shabby chic or bohemian style!
Maybe they can be presented as a gift ie:
Peace for a friend,
or as a reminder of a dream to not be forgotten?
