The Paper Unicorn ~ Fantasy Novel

Arty pages
Two characters come to life when Clara, a young woman from London, inherits an old manor house left to her by a stranger.

On moving in, her own life becomes entwined with that of a beautiful love story previously lost within the manor's stone walls.

Clara questions the intentions of the mysterious benefactor. Did the person know of the lovers? But more importantly, why was everything left to her? What is the connection between them?

The story presented itself when I was creating a visual reference journal for a dolls house. The magic happens like that. Visuals and songs play through my mind and the new characters come alive. This story is quite different to 'A Carpet of Purple Flowers' but spiritual connections are still there. ;o)

Fairy Castle ~ Part One ~ Exterior

WOW!
This Fairy Castle was the property of the famous silent movie actress Colleen Moore.
Worth $7000000, hand painted by Walt Disney Built in 1928.
In 1928, inspired by her father and with help from her former set designer, a dollhouse was constructed, which was 9 feet square with the tallest tower 12 feet high. The interior of The Colleen Moore Dollhouse, designed by Harold Grieve, features miniature bear skin rugs and detailed furniture and art. Moore's dollhouse has been a featured exhibit at the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago, Illinois since the early 1950s, where, according to the museum it is seen by 1.5 million people each year and would be worth $7 million. Moore continued working on it, and contributing artifacts to it, until her death.
This dollhouse was the eighth dollhouse Moore owned. The first dollhouse, she wrote in her autobiography Silent Star (1968), evolved from a cabinet that held her collection of miniature furniture. It was supposedly built from a cigar box. Kitty Lorgnette wrote in the Saturday, August 13, 1938 edition of The Evening News (Tampa) that the first dollhouse was purchased by Oraleze O'Brien (Mrs. Frank J. Knight) in 1916 when Moore (then Kathleen) left Tampa. Oraleze was too big for dollhouses, however, and she sold it again after her cat had kittens in it, and from there she lost track of it. The third house was possibly given to the daughter of Moore's good friend, author Adela Rogers St. Johns. The fourth survives and remains on display in the living room of a relative.
